Football Recap: Artesia Piles Up the Points Against Mayfield

While Artesia put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Mayfield. The Bulldogs blew past the Trojans 51-0. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won six matchups by 24 points or more so far this season.

Artesia's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bryce Parra, who rushed for 104 yards and four touchdowns on only six carries. Those four rushing touchdowns gave Parra a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Derrick Warren, who threw for 199 yards and four TDs while completing 75% of his passes.

Artesia pushed their record up to 9-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 9.3 points on average over those games. As for Mayfield, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

Artesia does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mayfield, they will face off against Highland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
