Softball Recap: Higbee Takes a Loss

Higbee fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Atlanta on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Hornets by a score of 8-7. The Tigers' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Kiersten Rockett was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. Eliona Bruce was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two triples and two runs.

Higbee's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Atlanta, their win bumped their record up to 3-7.

Looking ahead, Higbee will take on Jamestown at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Atlanta, they will challenge Novinger at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed seven runs per game on average), something the Hornets will no doubt try to take advantage of.
