Softball Recap: Sumter County Comes Up Short

After flying high against Dougherty on Monday, Sumter County came back down to earth. The Panthers came up short against the Westover Patriots on Wednesday, falling 19-5. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 31-30 last Wednesday.

Sumter County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Westover, their win ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-2.

Coming up, Sumter County will head out to challenge Monroe at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Westover, they will challenge Valdosta at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.
