Soccer Game Preview: Rocklin vs. El Capitan

The Rocklin Thunder will face off against the El Capitan Gauchos at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Rocklin's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Whitney by a score of 2-0. Given the Thunder's advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 21st, while the Wildcats are ranked 366th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only El Capitan walked away with it. They walked away with a 4-2 victory over the Cardinals on Thursday. The win was familiar territory for the Gauchos, who have now won six contests in a row.

El Capitan pushed their record up to 12-5 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 32 goals over those seven matches. As for Rocklin, their win bumped their record up to 10-2.
