Baseball Recap: Cottage Comes Up Short

Cottage was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mill Springs Academy. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougars of the 11-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Cottage saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Barnes, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1. Another was Davis Bradley, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Cottage's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Mill Springs Academy, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cottage will head out to take on Cross Keys at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mill Springs Academy, they are taking a road trip to challenge North Georgia HomeSchool at 3:00 p.m. on March 20th.
