Basketball Game Preview: Helix Highlanders vs. El Capitan Vaqueros

Helix and El Capitan are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Helix Highlanders will head out on the road to challenge the El Capitan Vaqueros at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

Helix is likely headed into the contest with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Granite Hills on Tuesday. Helix fell 50-41 to Granite Hills. The Highlanders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, El Capitan was able to grind out a solid victory over Scripps Ranch on Tuesday, taking the game 52-39.

Helix now has a losing record at 9-10. As for El Capitan, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 16 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season.

Helix couldn't quite finish off El Capitan when the teams last played two weeks ago and fell 57-54. Can Helix avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
