Softball Recap: Latta Comes Up Short

Latta suffered their closest defeat since September 13, 2024 on Saturday. They fell just short of the McLoud Redskins by a score of 5-3. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Redskins apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2018.

This is the second loss in a row for Latta and nudges their season record down to 7-6. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.5 runs. As for McLoud, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-2-1.

Latta has already played their next game (against Chandler), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for McLoud, they will face off against Berryhill at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
