Pataula Charter Academy gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past the Early County Bobcats 3-2. For the Panthers, this counts as revenge for the 10-2 victory the Bobcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.
Alex Caldwell made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits (and only one walk). Caldwell was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Ashton Weathersby was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run.
Having lost for the first time this season, Early County fell to 2-1.
