Delta proved they can win big on Friday (they won by ten) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Yorktown Tigers 1-0. The Eagles' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last three matchups.

Delta's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Maddox Huffman, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Delta's victory bumped their record up to 12-9. As for Yorktown, their loss dropped their record down to 10-12.

Coming up, Delta will welcome Jay County at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Patriots will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight. As for Yorktown, they will head out to square off against Oak Hill at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The last three games the Golden Eagles have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
