While Arp didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-15-1), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Elysian Fields Yellowjackets a 5-0 shutout on Thursday. The victory was familiar territory for the Tigers, who have now won five matchups in a row.

Not much got past Zane Bourque, who gave up just four hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Elysian Fields off the board.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Mason Wallace, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tye Tamplin, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI.

Arp's win bumped their record up to 7-0-1. As for Elysian Fields, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Coming up, Arp will challenge Ore City at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Elysian Fields, they will host St. Louis Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Yellowjackets 3, the Saints 1.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
