Softball Recap: David Emanuel Academy Gets the Win

David Emanuel Academy lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Bulloch Academy, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's game. The Eagles' pitcher stepped up to hand the Gators an 8-0 shutout on Tuesday. The game was the first time the Eagles have beaten the Gators on their field since August 13, 2015.

Rayleigh Faircloth was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, Payton Peebles was excellent, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in September of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kate Yeomans, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

David Emanuel Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .357 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

David Emanuel Academy's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Bulloch Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. David Emanuel Academy will welcome Vidalia Heritage Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bulloch Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bryan County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
