Preview: Eastside Lions vs. San Bernardino Cardinals

The Eastside Lions and the San Bernardino Cardinals will round out the year against one another at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday at. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Even though Eastside has not done well against Knight recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Eastside strolled past Knight with points to spare, taking the game 50-35.

Eastside got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Niela Niela out in front who scored 14 points. Aprill Medrano was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.

Meanwhile, San Bernardino came tearing into last Saturday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They managed a 36-31 win over Santa Rosa Academy.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead San Bernardino to victory, but perhaps none more so than Emonnie Allen, who scored eight points along with seven steals. Allen has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Laniah Porter, who scored 14 points.

Eastside pushed their record up to 6-4 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 52.33 points. As for San Bernardino, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4.
