Basketball Recap: Tatyana Aubry's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Leuzinger over South

Leuzinger lost against South back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Olympians took a 64-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spartans. The Olympians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Leuzinger lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Tatyana Aubry, who posted 24 points. That was a full 40.7% of Leuzinger's points, marking the third time in a row Aubry has earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brianna Ike, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten boards.

Leuzinger's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for South, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Looking ahead, Leuzinger will face off against La Canada at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for South, they will square off against Mira Costa at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Spartans will be up against the Mustangs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 55.83 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
