Baseball Recap: Denmark Beats Brookwood for Their Third Straight Victory

With a playoff win on the line, Denmark rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Brookwood Broncos by a score of 5-1. Five seems to be a good number for Denmark as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Jack Powell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up seven Ks. Denmark is undefeated when Powell allows one or fewer earned runs, but 8-12 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jason Williams, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Luke Althardt also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

The win was the third in a row for Denmark, bringing their record up to 19-12. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Brookwood, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 21-10 record this season.
