Softball Recap: Duchesne/Roncalli Find Success

Duchesne/Roncalli proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by 13) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Mercy Monarchs, sneaking past 6-4. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Duchesne/Roncalli also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

Jaiden Wageman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits.

At the plate, Josie Evans was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Adelynn DeMar was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Duchesne/Roncalli kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.

Duchesne/Roncalli's win bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Mercy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-11.

Looking ahead, Duchesne/Roncalli will challenge Ponca at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mercy, they will be taking part in a tournament against Yutan-Mead at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
