Basketball Game Preview: Washington Tigers vs. Perry Panthers

Washington is 1-7 against Perry since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Tigers will head out on the road to challenge the Panthers at 6:45 p.m. One thing working in Washington's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Washington saw some tournament action on Saturday. They took a 74-70 hit to the loss column at the hands of Laurel. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Wednesday (69), the Tigers still had to take the loss.

Washington's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Delaney Pierce, who dropped a double-double with 32 points and 13 rebounds, and Hannah Nicola, who shot 54% from the field en route to 22 points and five boards. Pierce has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 30 times she's played. Jaryn Wolff was another key player, putting up five points and ten boards.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Perry, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They enjoyed a cozy 45-29 win over GlenOak on Saturday.

Washington now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Perry, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.
