Volleyball Recap: Valwood Comes Up Short

Valwood managed to slip by St. Andrew the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Valiants lost 3-0 to the Lions on Saturday. The Valiants' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

The final score came out to 25-20, 25-19, 25-16.

Margaret Parks paced Valwood's offense, picking up ten kills. Parks got some help from Abby O'Neal and her 18 assists. Mary Blake Mcleod controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

St. Andrew's found their leader in sophomore Lyleigh Bradshaw, who had seven digs and two aces.

Valwood's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 16-10. As for St. Andrew's, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-11.

Looking ahead, Valwood will take on Highland Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Andrew's does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
