Football Recap: Tatum Piles Up the Points Against Lordsburg

Tatum won the last time they faced Lordsburg and things went their way on Friday too. The Coyotes took their game with ease, bagging a 52-14 win over the Mavericks. With the Coyotes ahead 36-0 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Aaron Marizcal threw for 176 yards and four TDs while completing 72.7% of his passes. Anthony Montez was his top target, picking up 106 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. On the ground, Jasiel Esparza rushed for 114 yards and one score on only five carries.

Tatum's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Lordsburg, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tatum will square off against Hagerman/Lake Arthur at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lordsburg, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Mescalero Apache at 7:00 p.m. on October 3.
