Softball Recap: Heard County Comes Up Short

Heard County had lost four straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped down to 12-11 to make it five. They lost 14-1 to the Harris County Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Braves of the 5-4 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2023.

As for Harris County, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 24-4. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 18 contests by seven runs or more this season.

For Harris County's part, they got a massive performance out of Gracie Guthrey, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Madelyn Carey was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and two RBI.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Harris County beat Heard County by a score of 7-0 later that day.
