Baseball Recap: Wakefield Warriors vs. Washington-Liberty Generals
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against James Madison, Wakefield was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Washington-Liberty Generals by a score of 8-5. That's more bragging rights for the Warriors, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Cort Bringham made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, Adam Barrington was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Beau Branch was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
The victory got Wakefield back to even at 2-2. As for Washington-Liberty, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-3.
Coming up, Wakefield will take on McLean at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Washington-Liberty, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 8-5 defeat against Wakefield School on the 4th.
