Baseball Recap: Maple Heights Comes Up Short

Maple Heights dropped down to 7-8 on Friday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Harvey Red Raiders, falling 15-2. The Mustangs were red-hot at the plate heading into the matchup (they scored no less than ten runs in the three games prior), but the Red Raiders' pitchers proved too tough.

Devin Leeson made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and one run. Maple Heights is 4-2 when Leeson posts two or more stolen bases, but 3-6 otherwise.

As for Harvey, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-14 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games.

On Harvey's side, the team relied heavily on Ryan Delaney, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with five stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those five stolen bases gave Delaney a new career-high.

Looking ahead, Maple Heights will take on Louisville at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Harvey does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
