Volleyball Recap: Marian Extends Winning Streak to Three

Marian had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Bellevue East Chieftains. The Crusaders have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Chieftains, too.

Marian's got stronger as the match went on, holding Bellevue East to fewer and fewer points set over set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-16, 25-13.

Erin Cramer paced Marian's offense, picking up nine kills. Cramer got some help from Sami Curnyn and her 19 assists. Campbell Capece controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

Marian's victory bumped their record up to 17-6. As for Bellevue East, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-11.

Coming up, after both having extra time off, Marian and Lincoln Southwest will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:30 p.m. on the 8th. Bellevue East has already played their next contest (against Lincoln Northwest), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
