Soccer Game Preview: Rialto vs. Carter

The Rialto Knights will take on the Carter Lions at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Rialto took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. Their defense stepped up to hand Bloomington a 4-0 shutout. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by three goals or more this season.

They hit Bloomington with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Jazmine Aguayo (2), Melissa Ramirez, and Jasmin Quesada.

Meanwhile, Carter's game on Friday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top against Colton by a score of 3-1. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 250th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 529th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Rialto pushed their record up to 8-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 18 goals over those four games. As for Carter, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Rialto skirted past Carter 3-2 in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Will Rialto repeat their success, or does Carter have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
