Basketball Recap: Wayne Christian Comes Up Short

Wayne Christian extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 11 on Saturday, dropping them down to 0-2. They lost to Cape Fear Christian Academy on the road by a 49-35 margin. That's two games in a row now that Wayne Christian has lost by exactly 14 points.

As for Cape Fear Christian Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 58.0 points this season.

Caden Scarborough had a dynamite game, going 8-for-12 en route to 22 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Justin Chestnutt, who posted two points and 12 rebounds.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Wayne Christian will venture away from home to take on Wayne Country Day at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cape Fear Christian Academy, they will head out to challenge Village Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
