Basketball Recap: Downey Falls Short of Tokay in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Downey can now relate to. They took a 28-22 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tokay Tigers. If the Knights were looking for revenge after losing 38-18 to them when the teams met back in December of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Downey's defeat dropped their record down to 13-13. As for Tokay, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season.

Downey does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Tokay, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against St. Mary's at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tokay's defense has only allowed 29.9 points per game this season, so St. Mary's offense will have their work cut out for them.
