Basketball Recap: West Takes a Loss

West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 41-21 to the East Bakersfield Blades. The contest marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

East Bakersfield's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Samantha Vasquez, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 13 boards. The dominant performance gave Vasquez a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashanti Collins, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 steals.

West's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for East Bakersfield, they pushed their record up to 9-7 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

West wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 46-28 loss against North on the 22nd. East Bakersfield has also already played their next match, a 55-39 win against Delano on the 21st.
