Troy picks up eighth straight win on the road

Recap: Troy Trojans vs. Towanda Black Knights

The Troy Trojans entered their tilt with the Towanda Black Knights with 12 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 13. Troy came out on top against Towanda by a score of 46-33 on Friday. Given Troy's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 180th, while Towanda is ranked 435th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Troy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kailyn Sterling, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. Sterling hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Gloria Andrews, who scored eight points along with eight steals.

Troy's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.6 points per game. As for Towanda, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-7.

Troy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 40-37 win vs. Milton on the 10th. Towanda will head out on the road to face off against North Penn-Mansfield at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
