Soccer Recap: Leland Takes a Loss

Leland and Marin Academy squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Leland had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Marin Academy Wildcats by a score of 2-1. The matchup was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but the Chargers couldn't quite close it out.

Their goal came courtesy of Annika Park, who's now up to eight this season.

Leland's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-4. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three contests. As for Marin Academy, they pushed their record up to 21-3 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road.

Leland does not have any more games scheduled as of now. We've got a battle between Wildcats coming up. St. Ignatius College Preparatory's last four games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
