Softball Recap: Silver Creek Takes a Loss

If Silver Creek was feeling good fresh off their 15-4 takedown of Overland on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Raptors took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Niwot Cougars on Saturday. The Raptors haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Abby LaCrosse put in work no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over 4.1 innings while giving up four earned runs off four hits. LaCrosse was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

LaCrosse wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Natalie Lane, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Silver Creek's loss dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Niwot, with the win, they broke their nine-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-15.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Silver Creek will challenge rival Broomfield at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Niwot is set to face off against their familiar foe Mead at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
