Basketball Recap: Lamar Christian Extends Winning Streak to Three

Lamar Christian strolled into their game on Saturday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They walked away with an 87-74 victory over the Meridian HomeSchool FLYERS. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 84-70 on Thursday.

Lamar Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jacob Baxter led the charge by dropping a double-double with 23 points and 15 rebounds. Baxter's big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. DeSean Mayfield was another key player, almost dropping a triple-double with 20 points, nine boards, and nine steals.

Lamar Christian's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Meridian HomeSchool, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Coming up, Lamar Christian will face off against Copiah Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Meridian HomeSchool, they will take on Muddy River HomeSchool at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup will give the FLYERS their first taste of in-conference action this season.
