Soccer Game Preview: Morro Bay vs. Templeton

The Morro Bay Pirates will take on the Templeton Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Morro Bay's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for six straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Morro Bay fell victim to Orcutt Academy and their airtight defense on Friday. They lost 4-0 to the Spartans. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 932nd, while the Spartans are ranked 442nd).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Templeton, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand Nipomo a 4-0 shutout on Tuesday. Considering the Eagles' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Templeton's victory bumped their record up to 6-7-3. As for Morro Bay, their loss dropped their record down to 2-12-1.
