Soccer Game Preview: Westlake vs. Chapel Hill

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Westlake duke it out with Chapel Hill at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Westlake will be strutting in after a victory while Chapel Hill will be coming in after a defeat.

Westlake will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any goals on Monday, then bounced right back against Langston Hughes on Thursday. Westlake was the clear victors by a 4-1 margin over Langston Hughes. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 3-0.

Meanwhile, Chapel Hill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was East Coweta who was credited with the win. East Coweta got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to Chapel Hill's two.

Westlake's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Chapel Hill, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.

Westlake might still be hurting after the 6-0 loss they got from Chapel Hill when the teams last played back in February of 2019. Can Westlake avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
