Baseball Recap: Harrison Gets the Win

It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Harrison ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They walked away with a 7-4 win over the Edgewood Cougars. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Preston Flick tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over six innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Harrison saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mitchell Mercurio, who went 1-for-4 with two runs. Mercurio is becoming a predictor of the Wildcats' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 8-10 when he doesn't). Another was Drew Baker, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI.

Harrison's win bumped their record up to 12-10. As for Edgewood, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-10-1.

As of now, neither Harrison nor the Cougars have any future games scheduled.
