Basketball Game Preview: Cranberry Area Berries vs. Clarion-Limestone Lions

Cranberry Area and Clarion-Limestone are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2018, but not for long. The Cranberry Area Berries will be playing at home against the Clarion-Limestone Lions at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Cranberry Area comes in on nine and Clarion-Limestone on four.

On Tuesday, Cranberry Area was fully in charge, breezing past Union 56-22. The Berries have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Clarion-Limestone hadn't done well against Clarion Area recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Clarion-Limestone really took it to Clarion Area for the full four quarters, racking up a 61-33 win. The match was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Lions had established a 27 point advantage.

Clarion-Limestone has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.5 points per game. As for Cranberry Area, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-4.

Cranberry Area didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Clarion-Limestone in their previous matchup on January 9th, but they still walked away with a 48-44 win.
