Soccer Recap: Rancho Verde Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Rancho Verde, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Santa Rosa Academy Rangers a 1-0 shutout on Wednesday. The Mustangs' winning goal came courtesy of MIA Z.

Rancho Verde pushed their record up to 4-5-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three matchups. As for Santa Rosa Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rancho Verde will be home for the holidays to greet Heritage at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Rancho Verde's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for nine straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end. As for Santa Rosa Academy, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Hamilton at 6:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025.
