Basketball Recap: Katerina Tsambis Key Part of a Team Effort in Raiders Win

Riverview won the last time they faced Jeannette and things went their way on Thursday too. The Riverview Raiders strolled past the Jeannette Jayhawks with points to spare, taking the game 52-36. Given the Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 263rd, while the Jayhawks are ranked 653rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Riverview to victory, but perhaps none more so than Katerina Tsambis, who went 8 for 18 en route to 22 points along with eight assists and three steals. Tsambis is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabel Chaparro, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 17 boards.

Riverview pushed their record up to 9-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Jeannette, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Riverview will take on Frazier at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Jeannette, they will square off against Ellis at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
