Soccer Recap: Tokay Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Tokay kept a clean sheet against Edison on Tuesday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Edison Vikings. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 213th, while the Vikings are ranked 736th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Alexandra Gonzalez and Gianna Silva scored both of Tokay's goals, bringing their combined season tally to four goals.

Tokay now has a winning record of 2-1-4. As for Edison, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6-1.

Tokay has already played their next match, a 6-0 victory against Chavez on the 19th. As for Edison, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Merced at 5:15 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
