Preview: Aquinas Falcons vs. Linfield Christian Lions
After four games on the road, Aquinas is heading back home. They will take on the Linfield Christian Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Aquinas is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Linfield Christian in California (Aquinas is ranked 131st, while Linfield Christian is ranked 801st).
Aquinas can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They breezed by Woodcrest Christian on the road to the tune of 66-27. The win was just what Aquinas needed coming off of a 85-38 defeat in their prior matchup.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Aquinas to victory, but perhaps none more so than Breanna Bates, who scored 17 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Madeleine De Kodia, who scored ten points along with nine steals.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Linfield Christian, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 66-48 loss to Arrowhead Christian on Monday. Linfield Christian has not had much luck with Arrowhead Christian recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Aquinas is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season. As for Linfield Christian, they dropped their record down to 9-16 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.
Everything came up roses for Aquinas against Linfield Christian in their previous meeting on January 9th as the team secured a 91-34 victory. With Aquinas ahead 45-21 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
