Soccer Game Preview: M.L. King vs. Drew

M.L. King hasn't had much luck against Drew recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The M.L. King Lions will be playing in front of their home fans against Drew at 7:30 p.m. M.L. King has given up an average of 5.2 goals per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.

M.L. King is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to six goals on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Pace Academy on Friday. They lost 10-0 to the Knights.

Meanwhile, Drew kept a clean sheet against Creekside on Friday. They put the hurt on the Seminoles with a sharp 5-0 win. The victory continues a trend for Drew in their matchups with Creekside: they've now won seven in a row.

Drew's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-5. As for M.L. King, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

M.L. King suffered a grim 11-1 defeat to Drew in their previous meeting back in February of 2020. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point M.L. King was down 9-1.
