Basketball Recap: Beckman Piles Up the Points Against Mission Viejo

Beckman entered their tilt with Mission Viejo on Tuesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They blew past the Mission Viejo Diablos, posting a 64-27 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 57-22 two weeks ago.

Loss or not, Mission Viejo got some senior leadership from Savanna Whitesides and Faith Harper. Whitesides almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 15 boards, while Harper posted six points in addition to 11 rebounds and four steals. That's the most steals Harper has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ella Ricketts, who earned five points.

Beckman is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.2 points per game. As for Mission Viejo, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 12 of their last 15 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-18 record this season.

Coincidentally, Beckman and Mission Viejo will both be playing Capistrano Valley the next time they take the court. Beckman will head out to face Capistrano Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Mission Viejo will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
