Softball Recap: Terrell County Takes a Loss

Terrell County extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 11 on Tuesday, dropping them down to 0-8. They lost 21-6 to the Pataula Charter Academy Panthers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Greenwave of the 9-8 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

As for Pataula Charter Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.1 runs over those games.

For Pataula Charter Academy's part, Sophie Conner and Avjah Lynn were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Conner struck out seven batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Lynn tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Conner has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one hit in five consecutive appearances. At the plate, Conner went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base, while Lynn went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Pataula Charter Academy got a massive performance out of Kaitlyn Chapman, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with five RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Chapman has posted since back in September of 2024. Gracen Hunnicutt was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.

Looking ahead, Terrell County will head out to square off against Randolph-Clay at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Pataula Charter Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
