Soccer Game Preview: Cibola vs. Rio Rancho

Cibola hasn't had much luck against Rio Rancho recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Cougars will look to defend their home pitch against the Rams at 4:00 p.m. Cibola has given up an average of 4.2 goals per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Cibola managed to keep up with Piedra Vista until halftime on Saturday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Cougars came up short against the Panthers, falling 5-0.

Meanwhile, Rio Rancho faced Volcano Vista in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Rams came out on top against the Hawks by a score of 3-1. Winning may never get old, but Rio Rancho sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Cibola's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Rio Rancho, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3-1.

Cibola might still be hurting after the 9-0 defeat they got from Rio Rancho in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
