Baseball Recap: Pepperell Comes Up Short

Pepperell was the 14-4 winner over Callaway when they last played one another back in April of 2025, but their luck changed this time around. The Dragons fell 6-1 to the Cavaliers on Monday.

Pepperell saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chance Hopper, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Pepperell has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-12 record this season. As for Callaway, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 17-12.

Coming up, Pepperell will head out on the road to take on Temple at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.57 runs per game on average), something the Dragons will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Callaway, they will be playing at home against Bremen at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
