Basketball Game Preview: Upper Dublin Cardinals vs. Plymouth Whitemarsh Colonials

The Upper Dublin Cardinals will face off against the Plymouth Whitemarsh Colonials at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Upper Dublin will be strutting in after a victory while Plymouth Whitemarsh will be coming in after a loss.

Upper Dublin is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Hatboro-Horsham: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Upper Dublin blew Hatboro-Horsham out of the water with a 73-14 final score. The Cardinals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, Plymouth Whitemarsh's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of Abington by a score of 51-48. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Colonials have suffered against the Galloping Ghosts since December 8, 2022.

Upper Dublin will need focus on slowing down Aj Avery, one of several Plymouth Whitemarsh players who made an impact when they last played. She posted 18 points and eight rebounds. Eliza Meersman was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on ten points and nine boards.

Even though they lost, Plymouth Whitemarsh smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.

Upper Dublin's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-4. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 32.4 points. As for Plymouth Whitemarsh, their loss dropped their record down to 14-7.
