Football Recap: Blackduck Comes Up Short

If Blackduck was feeling good fresh off their 58-27 takedown of Kelley last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Drakes lost to the Cook County Vikings at home by a 24-6 margin on Friday. The Drakes were not able to make up for their loss to the Vikings from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Macoy Fairbanks had a dynamite game For Cook County., picking up 138 receiving yards and two TDs, while also rushing for 141 yards and one touchdown while picking up 8.8 yards per carry. Fairbanks' longest reception was for an incredible 80 yards. Another player making a difference was Nicholas Spry, who threw for 153 yards and a pair of TDs on only 14 passes.

Blackduck's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Cook County, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Blackduck didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 44-17 victory against Bigfork on the 26th. As for Cook County, they have also already played their next game, a 27-0 win against Northome/Kelliher on the 26th.
