Softball Recap: Wayne County's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Wayne County extended their winning streak to seven on Tuesday, bumping them up to 17-5. They put the hurt on the Citizens Christian Academy Patriots with a sharp 10-1 victory. Considering the Yellow Jackets have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

As for Citizens Christian Academy, they moved to 15-4 with that defeat, which also ended their 12-game winning streak. They were red-hot at the plate heading into the game (they scored no less than ten runs in the three matches prior), but Wayne County's pitchers proved too tough.

For Citizens Christian Academy's part, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emma Gourley, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wayne County will face off against Perry at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Citizens Christian Academy, they will venture away from home to take on Tiftarea Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
