Softball Recap: Columbine Rebels vs. Valor Christian Eagles
Columbine faced Valor Christian in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Rebels put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 8-2 victory. The Rebels might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.
Addison Swenby spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up seven Ks.
At the plate, Melanie Newcomb was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in September. Olivia Keiter was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.

Columbine pushed their record up to 14-5 with the win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.
