After flying high against Long County last Tuesday, Calvary Day came back down to earth. The Cavaliers fell just short of the Blue Tide by a score of 6-5 on Thursday. The Cavaliers' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Carter Hampton made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Sam Renshaw was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Calvary Day's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 15-7. As for Long County, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 13-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Calvary Day beat the Blue Tide by a score of 17-1 later that day.
