Baseball Recap: Alcona Comes Up Short

Alcona was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 10-8 heartbreaker at the hands of the Oscoda Owls. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Owls apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

Lochlin Gordy made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season. Cody Kimball was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Alcona's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Oscoda, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-14.

While Alcona had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
