Baseball Game Preview: Mays Raiders vs. M.L. King Lions

The Mays Raiders will head out to challenge the M.L. King Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with eight losses in a row, Mays turned things around against Forest Park on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 8-4.

Ronald Tucker was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while going 1-for-4. He has become a key player for Mays: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 3-9 otherwise. TyReon Byner also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, M.L. King waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with an 11-8 win over the Seminoles.

The team relied heavily on Evan Fulks, who scored four runs and stole Six bases. while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Brandon Ray, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-5.

M.L. King kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in four consecutive games.

M.L. King's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-4. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Mays, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 5-10.

Mays might still be hurting after the 11-5 defeat they got from M.L. King in their previous meeting on Thursday. Can Mays avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
